Governor assures speedy completion of the road before the next raining season, as he is ever committed to answering the clarion calls of Abam people because of the good working relationship he has with Hon. Uko Nkole
He appealed for the cooperation of Abam people to the contractor to enable him do the work efficiently.
Speaking at the ceremony, I explained that the road project was a priority selection of the Abam think tank, a group that is charged with the responsibility of churning out developmental roadmap for Abam.
Recall that the Governor Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu specifically requested, the convocation of the group during his visit to Abam for the grand civic reception organised in his honour, on the 18th of August 2018, by Hon. Nkole.
In his speech, the President General of Abam Development Union, Dr. John Egbuta and the Chairman of the Occasion, Mr. Koos Chijioke James thanked the Governor for approving the road which he said when completed, will give a new lease of life to the community.
They equally assured the August visitors, that the people of Abam will rally support for Hon. Uko Nkole who has within his 3 years in office rehabilitated the Anyim bridge, that link Abia and Akwa Ibom State, provided and installed transformer for Atani Abam community which ended the 9 years of electricity outage and secured federal civil service jobs to many of their sons and daughters.
In the same vein, they thanked the Governor for the prompt completion of the Okobo bridge, including the ongoing rehabilitation of the Bende-Idima Abam road and Ozu Abam-Ndi Oji-Ndi Okereke-Arochukwu road and therefore assured the Governor of 100% support of Abam people for his re election as his works in Abam speak eloquently for him and a testament of his love for Abam.
And in appreciation of the Governor’s works and the synergy existing between him and the illustrious son of Abam Onyerubi community and member representing Arochukwu/Ohafia federal constituency, Hon. Uko Nkole, Abam Youths adopted Governor Okezie Ikpeazu for second term in office and presented a photo plaque to him.
Also speaking, the Commissioner for works, Hon. Eziuche Ubani assured that the contractor will deliver quality job which is a trademark of Gov. Ikpeazu administration.
The contractor on his part promised to deliver the project as stipulated.
Abam people with one voice concluded by saying that they will reciprocate Governor Okezie Ikpeazu’s kindness to them and Hon. Uko Nkole during the forthcoming general elections and opined that the Governors second tenure is sacrosanct as in him, equity has been justified by performance
