Armed Forces Remembrance Day: Umuahia North Council Boss Attends interdenominational Church Service
Today The local government chairman of Umuahia North area Comr Lucky Akabuike joined by his Umuahia south counterparts, PDP state chairman in Abia State attended an Interdedominational Christian Worship of “2020 Armed Forces Remembrance Day Celebration at St Stephen Anglican Cathedral, Eket street, Umuahia
In his charge, The Anglican Bishop of Umuahia, Rt Rev Geoffrey Obijuru Ibeabuchi drew his text from the book Acts 10: 5-7 where he titled his message ” ehat will you be remembered for” stressing that christians should stop fighting using physical weapon saying that christianity is about spiritual fight. He assured christian that as a christian they will never loss any battle and listed some of those things christians should fight against to include, sin, their mindset and the devil.
He further said Nigerians must work constantly for tolerance and should be accommodating of one another, as consequences of war “are always devastating”.
Rt Rev Geoffrey advised that all should take pride in our multiplicity and regard it as our strength, he maintained christians should always be ready to promote the welfare of legionnaires and families of fallen uniformed men.
The event featured Intercessory Prayers for Abia State and Nigeria, Prayer for the Governor and Arms of Government and Prayer for the Armed Forces, Nigerian Legion and Families of the fallen heroes.
